winter steelhead taken on an early December trip. |
It's Winter Steelhead time on the Oregon Coast. Join North Coast Angling on a scenic float trip down the some of the best rivers Oregon has to offer. Fish for Winter steelhead from a heated drift boat using quality equipment and advanced techniques while you pursue these awesome fish that are a true test of an anglers mettle. Whether it is with gear of fly, let North Coast Angling guide you into some life-long memories.
As winter rains swell coastal rivers, such as Siletz, Nestucca, Wilson, Trask, and Kilchis, all of which North Coast Angling offers trips on, steelhead are surging up their natal waterways toward spawning grounds. The predicted returns for hatchery steelhead are great and the native returns should be healthy as well. So, if it is a couple of fish for the freezer or the chance for that trophy steelhead, book now for dates are filling up fast.
I am based out of Newport, Oregon, where I grew up fishing the amazing coastal rivers as often as possible. It was not until after I spent nine seasons guiding in Alaska, and continue to do so as head guide of Mission Lodge, and four winters guiding in Chile, that I turned my attention back to the rivers I grew up fishing. I love the rivers of the Central and North Oregon Coast, such as the Siletz, Nestucca, Trask, Kilchis, and Wilson, and look forward to sharing them with you. These rivers and their fish are something everyone should experience at some point in their life. Space is limited so call now to book prime winter dates before they fill up.
